Farmers Market Access Platform
Connecting Farmers to Consumers in Sierra Leone
Overview
This project was designed to help farmers in Sierra Leone gain direct access to markets, allowing them to sell their products more efficiently. The platform also enabled farm product consumers to easily find and purchase fresh produce.
The Problem
Farmers in Sierra Leone often struggle with limited access to buyers, relying on intermediaries that reduce their profits. Consumers, on the other hand, lack a centralized marketplace to find farm products easily.
The Solution
I developed an MVP with:
- A single admin panel to manage farmer listings and product availability.
- Scalability for multiple admins, ensuring future growth.
- A user-friendly interface for seamless navigation and product browsing.
Technology Stack
- Frontend: Next.js
- Backend: Node.js & Express
- Database: MongoDB
- Authentication & Security: JWT-based authentication
- Language: JavaScript
Key Takeaways
This project showcased my ability to build scalable, market-driven solutions using modern web technologies. It also deepened my expertise in Next.js, MongoDB, and full-stack development.
